Budget & Finance

King County Fire District #34 receives substantially all of its funding from real estate property taxes.  The Commissioners may annually request up to $1.50 per $1,000 of the assessed valuation of the properties within our district.  Sometimes, due to requests from other jurisdictions, the District does not receive the full amount requested. The District also receives interest and other investment income from funds that are on deposit with the King County Treasurer.

For capital projects, the Commissioners may ask the voters for approval to issue general obligation bonds, within limits established by statutes.  The District also receives the net proceeds from the sale of surplus stations and/or equipment which is restricted for future capital projects.

Please visit the City of Redmond Fire Department’s website  for more information regarding their budget.
